Having trouble finding a place to study in the library? That may not be an issue soon. SGA and the Dean of Libraries recently decided to add seats to the 24-hour side of Ekstrom Library.

The new furniture is set to be in place before spring finals and will provide new seating for an estimate of twenty people, along with new, new lighting and an increased amount of outlets.

Bruce Keisling, associate dean of libraries, said the new furniture would be located in the triangular shaped space where the east and west sides of the library are joined, near the Fort Louisville display.

“The new furniture will be contemporary designed counter-height tables and chairs that coordinate with the aesthetic of the west side of Ekstrom,” Keisling said.

Keisling noted the decision was made in accordance with Dean Robert Fox and members of the SGA. They discussed the ongoing complaints of the shortage of available seating in the 24-hour side of the library and the decision was made to make the new addition to the library.

Keisling says he is excited about the new changes and is thrilled to be working with SGA to improve the library.
