Louisville will close out their long season with senior night against the Boston College Eagles.

When these teams first met on Feb 13th, it was a tale of two halves. Louisville looked like they were the superior team through the first 20 minutes, and then fell completely out of sorts in the second 20 minutes. It was very chippy with three flagrant fouls and two technical fouls called in big part due to the confidence of the Eagles. They weren’t afraid of Louisville then, and they most certainly won’t be afraid Saturday.

Coming off of a four-game losing streak, Boston College won its most recent game against Miami. In the last nine games for the Eagles, their only three wins have come against Louisville or Miami—the two worst teams in the ACC. Boston College’s season is the definition of consistent; they have bested no notable teams, only ones that are worse than them. The only loss on Boston College’s record that looks bad in hindsight is one to Florida State.

Louisville will enter Saturday on a six-game losing streak of their own, tied for the longest of the season for the Cards. Before the 2021-22 season, Louisville had not lost more than six games in a row since World War II. A loss would mark the fourth time in the last three seasons that the Cards would reach that dreaded mark.

Louisville proved back in Feb. that they have the talent to easily put away the Eagles, but they may have lost the fight. I don’t know of too many people that would like this season to continue. I don’t see a path to victory.

Not for a while, at least.
