The United Postal Service job fair and celebration day was held outside the Red Barn on Sept 21. The event was aimed toward students who were seeking part-time work, seasonal work or full-time positions.

UPS provided different incentives to come over and speak with them. Not only was there free food, but there were also free t-shirts, six different gift cards, candy and a Chromecast giveaway. There was even a football toss blow up house.

UPS Day was an opportunity for the company to promote its many job openings and tell interested students the benefits of working for them.

“It’s been a great turnout,” UPS recruiter Tina Chesher said. It was predicted that about 200 people had come to attend the event and it was projected that more were on the way. Chesher stated that not only were positions available, but there were applications on sight if students wanted to join that day.

Current student employees agree that the most lucrative incentive of working for the company is the tuition aid. Because of a partnership between UPS and the University of Louisville as well as Jefferson Community and Technical College, students have the opportunity to graduate debt free. Other benefits and bonuses are also provided.
