Last Friday kicked off U of L’s 2015 homecoming week with a free Matt and Kim concert. But now that the raging block party of the semester has come and gone, the following homecoming festivities will carry on the hype:

1. SAB Movie: The End of the Tour

With “The End of the Tour” running all weekend, you should definitely see this movie. The movie tells the five day interview between Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg), and critically acclaimed “Infinite Jest” novelist David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel). The interviews were never published, only rediscovered from Lipsky’s closet shortly after Wallace’s suicide in 2008. Lipsky wrote a memoir on their brief but unforgettable relationship. Pulitzer Prize-winning screenplay writer  Donald Margulies adapted the novel, and it is directed by Sundance veteran James Ponsoldt. Showings are Oct. 22 – Oct. 24. 5 p.m. showings are free. With a student ID admission is $1.50, or general admission is $3.00 at 8 p.m. showings.

2. Homecoming Dive-In

On Oct. 20, SAB is hosting their own version of a drive-in: a dive-in at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. Stop by for a swim at 9 p.m. to catch a fall classic, “Remember the Titans.”

3. Red, White and RAVE!

What’s better to prepare for homecoming weekend than a paint party this Thursday? U of L SAB has partnered with PaintU for a 100 percent free  glow paint party at the Red Barn. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and show begins at 8 p.m.

4. SAAB & Delta Tau Delta Homecoming Party featuring Jenna Dean

Local neo soul and hip-hop artist Jenna Dean will be providing the jams for this party hosted by Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Free food and free prizes will be given away all night long celebrating our Homecoming week and Louisville’s local music scene. The fun starts Oct. 21 at  7 p.m. in the Red Barn.

5. Cardinal Stampede

If you’re feeling a little more active than the average midterm student, then run or walk in the first ever 5K dedicated to Homecoming week. Make sure to come prepared in your best U of L wear. The event takes place Oct. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at the Red Barn.

The homecoming parade will take place this Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. on Cardinal Towne and Third Street. For a list of full events, visit Uoflalumni.org.
