Rick Pitino added a fourth commitment to his 2015 recruiting class after Ryan McMahon pledged to Louisville late last week. McMahon, a 6-foot-1 guard from Sarasota, Florida committed the day after receiving a scholarship offer from Louisville.

Unlike the previous three commitments in Louisville’s 2015 recruiting class, Deng Adel, Donovan Mitchell and Raymond Spalding, all who rank inside ESPN’s Top 60 nationally, McMahon is a relative unknown.

The Cardinals heavily recruited guards Antonio Blakeney and P.J. Dozier, but missed out on both, leaving Pitino searching for one more guard for the 2015 recruiting class.

ESPN analyst Dick Vitale, who lives near Sarasota watched McMahon play and approached college coaches about his talent.

McMahon reportedly does not have another scholarship offer from any major programs, but is ranked as the nation’s 42nd best shooting guard and four stars on ESPN.

He has not been rated by Scout.com or Rivals.

McMahon is a prolific scorer with the ability to knock down threes off the catch and dribble.  He can handle the ball and pass well enough to be a combo guard.

With a slender frame, McMahon will need to add strength to compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Louisville’s recruiting class is ranked eleventh nationally be ESPN.com and fourth by Scout.
