Despite losing 68-61 in overtime to St. John’s in the Big East Quarterfinals, the University of Louisville women’s basketball team earned the No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament. On Saturday, Mar. 17, the Cardinals battled No. 10 seed Michigan State, earning a 67-55 victory that will propell them into the next round of the tournament.

“It’s nice to be back,” head coach Jeff Walz declared.

On Monday, Mar. 19, the Cards will face the University of Maryland at 7:10 p.m.

“We’re going to have our hands full,” Walz said. “It’s a game I’m not sure anyone would really expect us to win, but we’ll come out here and at least try to play hard and see what we can do.”
