Baseball
-Ranked No. 15 in Collegiate Baseball newspaper preseason poll.
-Justin Amlung selected Third Team Preseason Louisville Slugger and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America teams.

Football
-A late comeback fell short as the Cardinals fell to North Carolina State, 31-24, in the Belk Bowl.
-Teddy Bridgewater was named a freshman All-American by CBSsports.com, Yahoo Sports, Sporting News and Fox Sports Next. He was also awarded Big East Freshman of the Year.
-Jake Smith was named to the Football Writers Association of America freshman Al-America Team.

Women’s Soccer
-Christine Exeter was named to the NSCAA Third Team All-America.
-The Cardinals were added to the College Team Academic Award list for the 12th consecutive season.

Swimming &
Diving

-FINA announced Gisselle Kohoyda as the No. 26 women’s 200M breaststroke swimmer in their world rankings.
-The men’s team was ranked No. 11 and the women No. 19 in the CSCAA National Rankings released on Dec. 8, 2011.

Women’s Basketball
-Monique Reid will be out for the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in the Dec. 14 game vs. Cincinnati.
-Bria Smith was named the Big East freshman of the week on Jan. 9, 2012.
-The Cardinals have gone 7-2 since Dec. 10, 2011, with Big East wins over Cincinnati, Marquette and South Florida, and a tough overtime loss to Rutgers.
-As a reminder to all students, all the women’s basketball home games will be played in the KFC Yum! Center and tickets are free to students. Just show your student ID at the box office on game day and get a free ticket. General admission tickets are only $8 for adults and $5 for children 18 and under.

Men’s Basketball
-Since Dec. 17, 2011, the basketball team has posted a record of 7-4 with key wins over Memphis and St. John’s, and key loses from Kentucky, Notre Dame and Princeton.
-Peyton Siva announced as one of 20 finalists for the 2012 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award.

Volleyball
-Lola Arslanbekova was named AVCA All-America Third Team.

Track & Field
-Former runner Michael Eaton competed in the Olympic Trials Marathon in Houston, Texas on Jan. 14.
-12 team members posted Top 5 finishes at the Kentucky Invitational with eight members earning their way into the Big East Indoor Championships.
