Restore UofL receives donations
After approximately $15 million in damage and 90 affected buildings from the Aug. 4 flood, the University of Louisville has started the fundraising campaign, Restore UofL.
Kentucky Representative David Floyd, a state legislator from Bardstown, donated $1,000 to the Restore UofL campaign.
In a press release, Floyd stated, “In Bardstown, we didn’t get a drop of rain from the storm
that flooded parts of Louisville and devastated the U of L campus. When I read the reports, I understood the need was genuine, so I wrote out a check for $1,000 and wanted to challenge others to do the same.”
To match Floyd’s donation, U of L President James Ramsey and Provost Shirley Willihnganz each matched the $1,000 contribution.
The $3,000 combined contributions will help U of L with redoing landscaping, planting trees or assisting employees who lost their cars and other personal items.
