University of Louisville students will experience traffic headaches when they return school this fall. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be doing road construction around the U of L Belknap campus, starting in late August.
The first project will be to improve the Eastern Parkway exit, 133B to Warnock Street. The project will add a traffic light at the interchange, and allow drivers from I-65 North to make a legal left turn onto Warnock St, and will add a legal left turn onto I-65 North from Warnock.
After that construction is complete, the main work on Eastern Parkway will begin. Eastern Pkwy will be closed from Hahn Street to Third Street after the Warnock construction is completed, and will remained closed until the construction is completed, due to be late December.
KTC will be installing a new median on Eastern Pkwy, and will also reinforce the under-structure of the Eastern Pkwy bridge, along with a number of other improvements.
