Former Holy Cross head coach Ralph Willard was name associate head coach at the University of Louisville Wednesday. Willard coached under U of L head coach Rick Pitino at the New York Knicks, and also at the University of Kentucky.
Willard Replaces Richard Pitino, Rick’s son, who previously left U of L to coach under Billy Donovan at the University of Florida.
At Friday’s press conference announcing Willard, Pitino reaffirmed his commitment to U of L, saying “I’m going to be the coach here until I retire.”
In his 10 seasons at Holy Cross, Willard has a 192-117 record.
