Zek Parker had a game-high seven receptions against Colorado State. This marks a career high for single game receptions for Parker. Parker scored the only touchdown in the game, and ended with 92 total yards receiving.

Louisville’s defense achieved a telling feat. Colorado State, limited to 148 yards of total offense, had its lowest offensive scoring output since 1993. The only score came on a blocked punt and a safety at 5:56 in the 4th Quarter.

The paid attendance of 39, 389 was the highest total of the season at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. The previous high of 39,256 was set against Memphis on Sept. 29, 2001.

The Cardinals and Rams committed turnovers on 6 straight possessions to start out the fourth quarter. Starting with a blocked punt by the Cards, the next 5 possessions saw 3 interceptions, one fumble, and another blocked punt. The Cards gave up one interception, one fumble, and had one punt blocked.

Safety Anthony Floyd added another interception to his career total, bumping that number up to 14. The first interception of the season for Floyd ties him with current San Francisco 49er’s DB Rashad Holman for fourth in career interceptions at U of L.

The Cardinals were shut out in the first quarter for the first time since November 4th, 2000. Southern Mississippi was the last team to hold the Cards scoreless over the first 15 minutes.

Papa John’s Stadium announcer Sean Moth had a rough time of calling the game. Moth is not only a graduate of CSU, but he spent the first 31-years of his life in Fort Collins Colorado. It was very difficult for Moth to remain unbiased during the game. “It was terrible,” Moth said, “it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.”
