This time last year the University of Louisville was scrambling to prepare for the inevitable rush of students that was to come for the start of the Fall 2009 school year. In 2009 those preparations included restoring buildings, classrooms, and offices due to damages inflicted during the flood that the city of Louisville experienced days earlier. Now, as the University is in the midst of beginning the Fall 2010 semester it is faced with even more severe weather conditions to consider due to the constant heat advisories that have been issued in Louisville throughout the first half of the month. Students will most certainly have to be advised on ways to stay safe through the heat indices that have consistently reached the 100s in the past few weeks.

Check out these videos recorded from the flood last year. Will we be watching heat related videos this time next year?  Hopefully not. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
