The university has installed a new solar-powered trash recepticle on campus.
Due to a built-in trash compactor, the Big Belly stores five times as much trash as similarly-sized trash cans around campus. When it becomes full, the solar-powered trash compactor kicks in, crushing the garbage inside.
Each Big Belly garbage can cost $4,000.
