• Women’s tennis capped off the weekend with an upset of #66 Ohio State in Columbia, Miss. Down 3-0, the Cards clawed back for a 4-3 victory which improved their record to 13-5. Ohio State swept the doubles matches but the singles play of Kelly Taylor and Suzanna Gracanin anchored the Cards to their first win ever over Ohio State.
• The baseball team split this weekend with the Miami (Oh.) Redhawks, pushing their record to 6-4. The Cards were shut out in game one by pitcher Graham Taylor in a 2-0 loss. Graham went 8-2/3 innings, tallying 11 strikeouts. However, in game two, the Cards exploded for 14 runs, including 12 runs in the final three innings to take down Miami 14-4.
• The Louisville Athletic Department announced the 2005 football schedule, arguably the hardest one their coach Bobby Petrino and the Cards have had to face since he arrived. The 2005 slate features games against seven teams that appeared in bowl games last year, and is highlighted by the annual UK meeting on Sept. 3, a home game against Oregon State and a trip to Morgantown to take on West Virginia.
