Louisville will travel to New York to play the No. 19 Texas Longhorns in the Empire Classic.

This will be the first power-six opponent for the Cards this season, and point guard Tyrese Hunter will prove to be one of the most formidable guards the Cards face on their schedule. Hunter led Iowa State to a Sweet 16 appearance his freshman season and led the Longhorns to an Elite Eight appearance this past March.

Texas might not be the same Elite Eight team after the departure of key players—namely point guard Courtney Ramey—but head coach Rodney Terry still fields a top 20 team, and their no-middle defense will be nothing like defensive schemes the Cards have gone up against since head coach Kenny Payne has been at the helm.

Through three games at home, the Cards have looked unimpressive against three unappealing teams. If the Cards play anything like they have the first week and a half of the season this will quickly become a blowout.

It was around this time last year when the Cards traveled to Maui to play in the Maui Invitational tournament. It was in Maui where the national media first realized just how bad Louisville looked, losing each game in the tournament by an average of 26 points.

Louisville is currently 2-1 but will most likely leave New York with a losing record, and will once again become the laughingstock of the college basketball world.
