1. Blood Drive-
Feb. 8 | 11AM-5PM
Come to the Red Barn this Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to give life. Register at redcrossblood.org and enter code 2390. Walk-ins are also welcome. This blood drive is sponsored by the Cultural Center and the University of Louisville Black Diamond Choir.

2.Book-In-Common Conversation Cafe

Join First Year Initiatives, PEACC and Women and Gender Studies at the Cultural Center as they discuss the power of choice from the book “The Other Wes Moore.” This event is part of V-Week and is sponsored by PEACC. Free lunch will be provided!

3. Global economic crisis and chinese foreign policy

4.The Vagina monologues
Feb. 9-11 | 7PM-8PM
V-Day, a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls, raises funds through benefit productions of Playwright/Founder Eve Ensler’s award winning play, “The Vagina Monologues.” For those who have already seen the production, please consider donating to the UofL VDAY 2012 fund, which supports PEACC and the women in Haiti. The play will be at the Playhouse Theatre on Third Street and there will be interpreters for the hearing impaired at all the performances. Tickets are $8 with your ID, but can be purchased in advance for $6, and $10 for faculty, staff and the public. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office on the second floor of the SAC.

5. REACH Seminar
Feb. 9 | 4:30PM-5PM
REACH is offering an effective note-taking seminar this Thursday. Learn some viable options for taking notes in class and what information from class should be included. The seminar will be in Strickler 111. For more REACH seminars, visit their website at http://reach.louisville.edu/.

6. Floyd Theater Movie
Feb. 10-12 | 5PM and 8PM
Haunted by painful memories and increasing paranoia, a damaged woman struggles to re-assimilate with her family after fleeing an abusive cult. This movie stars Elizabeth Olsen, Sarah Paulson and John Hawkes and is playing at the Floyd Theatre at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $1.50 when purchased with a student ID and $3 to the public.

7. I Love Mountains! Day
Feb. 14 | 10:30mAM-3PM
Join thousands of other Kentuckians in Frankfort to tell lawmakers that we love mountains! Transportation is available for a $5, with buses leaving from Rauch Planetarium at 10:30.
