It’s that time of year again – finals time, that is. Fortunately for many students, the University of Louisville Resources for Academic Achievement offers several programs to help students combat the stress of finals week. REACH Finals Blitz continues to attract large numbers of students each year.
Katie Domagalski is a freshman nursing major seeking her second degree. Domagalski has been using REACH all semester for her anatomy and physiology classes.
“We usually go over what the professor discusses in class and the REACH tutor answers any questions and makes the material easier to understand,” said Domagalski.
Domagalski plans to utilize Finals Blitz review sessions for anatomy and physiology as well.
“The test is going to be cumulative, so I hope the Finals Blitz will help me to refresh my memory on what we have gone over on the previous six tests,” said Domagalski. “The professor takes the most missed questions on the first six tests and makes similar questions to those.”
Pam Carter is a senior psychology major and a student tutor with REACH.
“It does get really crowded in here,” said Carter. “We have a lot of people come here during finals. They keep coming back each semester. The students say the review sessions help them a lot, even if they just have one question from a class. The best part of it is it’s free.”
According to the U of L website, there are three specialties for the Finals Blitz programs: the math resource center, the computer resource center and the iTech Zone computing center. Locations for each are available at reach.louisville.edu. Finals Blitz programs will run from Dec. 7 to Dec. 10.
