- The arena should hold 22,000 basketball fans, trailing only Syracuse University’s Carrier Dome (33,000), University of Tennessee’s Thompson-Boiling Arena (24,535), University of Kentucky’s Rupp Arena (23,500), and Brigham Young University’s Marriott Center (22,700).
- The arena will have seven levels, with 71 suites on two different levels, four party suites and 62 junior suites. There will also be a 7,000 square foot restaurant overlooking the Ohio River.
- The venue is expected to be used for ice shows, wrestling, indoor football, circuses, concerts, boxing and swimming. It has already been announced as the home for the 2012 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championships.
- There will be 27 permanent stands, 32 portable locations, 2 fixed novelty stands and 234 total points of sale.
- The NCAA has designated the arena as an opening-round site for the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament.
