SGA, despite what seem to be the sentiments of this newspaper, provides plentiful opportunity for students to contact them and voice their concerns.  For example, there are monthly Town Hall Meetings.  These were conceived by the current administration.  The A and S Council (a mixture of members of the Senate and representatives on council) has created a new program in which each elected official essentially posts up on campus at hot spots to converse with students.  Each Top Four member has a set time for office hours in which they are absolutely required to be present in their office.  This provides students with the opportunity to speak individually with Top Four members on any matter they wish, including but not limited to how SGA should spend its money.
The opportunities are there.  SGA even implements incentives to get students at the events.  However, the students just aren’t coming, by any stretch of a substantial amount.  I applaud the current administration for making communication such an important issue.  I also applaud the students that do attend these opportunities.  Is SGA at fault for the problems, or is it a problem of student apathy? I personally believe it is the latter.
