The University of Louisville football team lost its third straight game, to the University of Connecticut Huskies, 38-25, on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Down 14-13 at the half, the Cardinals turned the ball over three times in the third quarter, leading to 17 unanswered points by the Huskies.
With sophomore starting running back Victor Anderson hindered by injuries, junior running back Bilal Powell got the start, but was unable to bolster the Cards offensive attack, averaging three yards per carry.
Anderson entered the game in the third quarter and led the Cards to the red zone, finishing with 58 yards on only five carries.
The Cards have now lost nine of their last 10 games against Football Bowl Subdivision opponents.
Next up for the Cards will be No. 5 Cincinnati on the road, where the Cards won 28-24 in 2007, but lost last year at home 28-20.
