Renovations following the Aug. 4 flood that severely damaged the University of Louisville are progressing according to plan and meeting all expected deadlines.
“Cleanup is going really well, better than expected even,” said Kris Ketterer, ServPro spokeswoman. “We’re on time with all deadlines, and ahead of schedule on others. We’re making quite a bit of progress all over campus.”
Associate Bursar Carol Ebb said the Bursar’s Office only had to be closed for two-and-a-half days due to the flood, and has since been completely functional.
“We’re not behind at all,” said Ebb. “It really hasn’t had an effect on what we’re doing. We’re just busy these two weeks. Any lines you see are not a result of the flood.”
The Bursar’s Office is done with renovations and should have all equipment set up and organized in several weeks.
Many offices are still operating in their temporary locations.
“It was a challenge relocating,” said Cardinal Card Office Manager Davetta Davis, “but we had a lot of help from ServPro, [Physical] Plant and Student Affairs.”
These organizations helped find the Cardinal Card Office a new location, while also assisting with the move.
“I deal with a lot of technology, so the biggest obstacle was transferring all that equipment,” said Davis.
The Cardinal Card Office is currently functioning out of Davidson 106B, but the staff is ready to be back in Houchens. Renovations should be done in the building by mid-September.
“We’re anxious to get back home,” said Davis.
