Student tickets for basketball and football will be available at a campout on April 12, 2002, at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
Having a lottery for tickets to sporting events in order to alleviate uneven distribution among students who can’t stay at a campout was considered for this year. However, after much deliberation and student input, ticket sales will take place as usual.
Ericha Blakeman, a member of the U of L spirit club, said that she thought a campout would be fairer than a lottery. “The campout can be fun as long as it’s not cold.”
There are 2,300 student ticket packages available. 2,000 are football/basketball combo packages, and 300 are football only.
From the 2,300 packages, an undecided number of tickets will be set aside for graduate students. However, once the allotted number of tickets have been sold, remaining graduate students will have to camp out for tickets.
Ticket prices for the upcoming season have slightly increased this year. The combo package will be $154.
A mass email will be sent to all students with details, and flyers with additional information will follow.
