U of L junior Najam Mughal passed away yesterday.
Mughal’s fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, confirmed the news on Twitter this afternoon.
“Najam was a friend, brother and one of the friendliest, nicest and most loving guys you’d ever meet. We can’t express how much we’ll miss him,” they tweeted from the chapter Twitter account.
The fraternity also thanked Mughal’s friends and the U of L Greek community for their support.
“We appreciate the outpouring of love and support we’ve received from all,” the chapter tweeted. “We hope your thoughts and prayers will remain with the Mughal family.” Many who knew Mughal expressed condolences and shared their favorite memories on social media.
One of Mughal’s friends created a Gofundme soon after the news broke yesterday to help with funeral expenses. As of press, over $2,800 has been raised since last night.
