Field Hockey the twelfth-ranked Cardinals won their third straight “Battle of the Border” game against Indiana 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Trager Stadium.  Stephanie Byrne scored two goals to help Louisville improve to 2-0.  The Cardinals travel to Davis, California this weekend to play California and UC Davis

Men’s Soccer opened the season with a 2-1 victory over William & Mary on Friday night.  The 18th-ranked Cardinals face eighth-ranked Stanford on Monday night at Lynn Stadium.  If you aren’t able to attend the match at 7:30, the match will be live streamed on gocards.com.  The Cardinals end the week on Friday with a home contest against Stony Brook at 7:30.

Women’s Soccer played to a 2-2 draw on Friday against Kent State.  Louisville will look to improve upon their 1-1-1 record against rival Kentucky in Lexington on Friday night at 7:30.

Volleyball played in the Illini Classic over the weekend, falling to eighth-ranked Illinois on Friday 3-0, but then turned it around on Saturday and Sunday, defeating Creighton 3-2 and Miami (Ohio) 3-1.  Janelle Jenkins and the Cardinals return to the KFC YUM! Center next weekend for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.  The Cardinals will face Minnesota on Friday at 7 and then play Wisconsin at the same time on Saturday.

Football travels to Atlanta for the season opener against sixth-ranked Auburn.  Head coach Bobby Petrino has yet to name a starting quarterback, but very well could shed some light on the competition on Monday when he meets with the media.
