The hip-hop band Code Red performed at the Louisville-West Virginia game and brought the energy in Papa John’s stadium to a whole new level. They’re breaking out of Louisville after producing the Cardinal hype song, “For My Cards,” which has been released nationwide and inspired ESPN to ask Code Red to create original songs for the station’s use.
The song represents the action and passion involved in Louisville football and is now available at all Rally’s locations in the Kentucky and Southern Indiana area. The CD is $1 when purchased with the Cardinal Combo. This is a non-profit single being released especially for Cardinal fans.
The newest release from Code Red, “All Aboard,” is their fourth CD. Every song has an original sound that commands attention. The dance songs have beats that provide enough energy to jolt any night to party mode while the other songs are thought provoking, meaningful and truly moving.
The most intense song on the CD is, “Give Me A Reason,” which discusses war. It explains a soldier’s perspective and does so honestly because two of the group members, El One Wise and Junior Dread, were soldiers stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky.
The song tells the ailing story of soldiers fighting overseas, their thoughts of family and their will to survive.
The band can be checked out at http://www.Myspace.com, where their CD can be purchased. Myspace is also being updated with blog entries from the group members, samples of music and current news and information about what the group is doing, including the video the band will be shooting in early November here in Louisville. The group is asking for fans to come out for the video which will be shown on MTV and BET.
More information is to come on how to get involved with the video, so keep checking the page if interested.
