Allies joining forces can prove to be a pretty good idea for everyone.  We at the Cardinal hope this is the case as we join with University of Louisville’s own WLCV radio to bring students, faculty and staff two weekly radio shows to listen to, respond to and hopefully get enlightened by.
Each Monday at noon, the Cardinal’s Gavin LaPaille will be hosting a sports talk show.  LaPaille will have guests, take phone calls and walk up questions.  U of L is known as a sport school, so fans can now have an outlet to speak up, speak out and ask those questions they’ve always wanted to ask.  LaPaille will be the one to get them answered.
With the world in the shape it is in and college life getting tougher by the day, it is only reasonable to have a show that will ask the questions which have the most affect on college students lives.
Toma Lynn Smith and Justin Moore, editors here at The Louisville Cardinal, will be on hand each Friday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. streaming live online and throughout the SAC.  Listeners can access through their computers via a link on the WLCV Web page or by going to louisvillecardinal.com as there will be a link available on our site as well.
Smith and Moore will have guests each week, from President Ramsey to SGA President Rudy Spencer, SGA members, different RSOs, theater groups and more.
We, along with WLCV, are hoping to give you, the students, staff and faculty of U of L an easy way to get information and voice your thoughts and concerns about campus life.
Calls will be taken during both shows:  The Sports Talk on Mondays at noon, and The Campus Life Show on Fridays at 3 p.m.
The Cardinal will publish scheduled guests for each show in the newspaper as well as the schedule for the WLCV DJs.
The world is changing, media is changing.  How we receive our news and information is constantly changing and The Louisville Cardinal is changing, too.  We are utilizing our Web site more and more each day.  But we can use your help.
We will welcome event information to be added to our What’s Happening on Campus section.  There are things we don’t hear about, sometimes until it is too late.  So we ask you the readers of the Cardinal to send us details about anything you know of happening on campus.  Between us all, we can get everything we can out there for the entire campus to know.  If we have missed something you are particularly proud of or you just want to share a photo or two, forward them to editor@louisvillecardinal.com.
The Louisville Cardinal is here for you, a statement that we cannot stress enough. We are your voice, so use what is available to you.  Speak up and speak out for your school and fellow students.  Let us know what is going on, good or bad, and we will take it from there.
Visit our Web site each day; see if you recognize the folks in the Campus Life photos.  You may be surprised and see your own face or that of someone you know.  While you’re there, make sure we have all the same information you do on activities on campus.
Don’t be shy; The Louisville Cardinal is the student’s newspaper.
