*Peace to the Master of the Jam… After canceling the remainder of their December/January openings for Aerosmith and Kid Rock, Rev Run and mc DMC announced full retirement on Tuesday, November 5. Russell Simmons also announced Tuesday that $50,000 was contributed by LL Cool J, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Fred Durst, BET, The Source, Redman and Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Kid Rock, and Aerosmith. The money is to aid in payment for Jam Master Jay’s home and his three sons’ college tuition funds. Funds will also go to the investigation of the murder.
*Back in black with a ceremonial gown… AC/DC, The Clash, the Police and Elvis Costello formulate the class of 2003; they will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10.
*Not again… Fresh off his TRL grand reopening with Ja Rule and their video for “Thug-Lovin,” Bobby Brown was arrested early Thursday, November 7. Brown was caught speeding, driving without a valid license with marijuana in his possession.
