Scratch the nails, use the wrenches and tie the strings. Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle) are working on a rock/electronic project, with Reznor producing and Maynard humming vocal lines. The project, entitled Tapeworm, is due in early 2003.

Wu-Tang Clan announced Thursday that it is not “broken up,” and is in fact planning a December release for an official 10-year anniversary double disc with unreleased material.

RZA of the Wu, Lars Ulrich of Metallica and William Orbit have formed a trio to write the score/soundtrack to the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill. Orbit and Daman Albarn (Blur/Gorillaz) are working together for an Orbit solo project.

Guns N’ Roses, or should we say, Axl Rose, the only original member of the new GNR have released news of a 26-date tour beginning in NYC’s Madison Square Garden, which sold out in only fifteen minutes on September 26. The heavily anticipated album is called Chinese Democracy and is tentatively set for a December 10 release. It is the group’s first tour since 1993.

On September 17, Bone Thugs N’ Harmony officially fired Bizzy Bone from the group after an incident in which, staggeringly drunk, he fell face-first from the stage onto bouncers at New York’s B.B. King club.

Releases due soon are Santana’s Shaman, Tori Amos’ Scarlet Walk, and new discs from P.O.D. and Michelle Branch. Cody Chestnutt is privately releasing The Headphone Masterpiece, a double disc set, to be sold only on his personal website on 10-22-02. Nirvana’s finished being tugged and roped by Courtney Love and the record companies and is set to drop Nirvana, a collection, on October 29th.

And let’s not forget the “ultimate” Roots’ Phrenology, which is sure to please all ears in the land, set for November 26th. Also, what would the world be without a little Rage? Audioslave, the new Rage Against the Machine, is set to drop a new disc, with a long tour following, on November 19th. Look for the new Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) directed video for the single “Cochise” to hit MTV2 next Thursday.
