• The men’s golf team won the Marshall Invitational, shooting a 273 in the third round, good for second-best total in school history. This was the Cards’ second straight tournament win after cruising through the Forest Oaks Intercollegiate last week.
• Boasting a #71 ranking, the women’s tennis team took down Bellarmine and the University of Illinois-Chicago in last week’s action. The wins push the Cards’ record to 18-7. The team will face the Cincinnati Bearcats tomorrow on the road.
• Football had a 150-play scrimmage last week after six days of spring practice. Brian Brohm went 21 for 33 in the air. Kolby Smith was the star on the ground, breaking through for three touchdowns.
• Nick Haley had a one-run double and Jorge Castillo had a two-run double for the Cardinals (15-11, 5-4 C-USA) against Houston Saturday. Louisville fell to the Cougars (14-17, 6-4 C-USA) 5-1 on Friday. Second baseman J.T. LaFountain had the only hit for the Cardinals, and Derrick Alfonso scored the only run.
