Campainging & Voting
According to this year’s campaign regulations, candidates could begin officially campaigning yesterday at 7 a.m. The official ballot for this year’s election was also made available at that time.
Students who are on the ballot and listed as running for office must file by March 1 to have their name removed from the ballot if they choose not to run in this year’s election.
Voting begins on March 5 at midnight and runs through March 7 at 5 p.m. Several polling stations will be set up around campus to allow students to vote, but the ballot will be accessible from any Internet-connected computer via the university’s portal Web site. Students can visit http://ulink.louisville.edu to cast votes.
Results of the election will be announced at 12:30 p.m. in the SAC Floyd Theater. If a run-off election is required, it is set for March 21 and 22 after spring break.
Although candidates are not required to create campaign materials, those running for office may spend up to $100 on flyers and other approved campaign materials. Executive officer candidates may spend up to $250.
More information about the election process, dates and times is available on the SGA Web site. Visit http://www.louisville.edu/sga and click on the “Judicial” tab.
