Love:

Patrick Henry Hughes has had an impact on the U of L community that will prove to be lasting and profound far beyond his years here as a student. In the microcosm that is the University of Louisville, he serves as a teacher of universal lessons, a constant reminder of the tremendous potential of the human spirit. His embodiment of resiliency, courage, dedication, and commitment are commendable and through them he instills in the university a sense of pride and community. He’s the mutual friend that everyone on campus shares.

Hate:

There is no denying that Patrick Henry Hughes is a brave man who rightfully provides inspiration to the community. The University of Louisville should be very proud of him; but the university wants to imply that it had something to do with his success, taking the focus away from Hughes and attempting to place it on the university. “Courage is happening here?” They’ve effectively reduced Hughes’ story to a catchy bumper sticker slogan with no real substance.
