The Cardinals top recruit and top target will visit Louisville this weekend.

Samardo Samuels, ranked the No. 7 player in the 2008 class by Rivals, and Tyreke Evans, ranked the No. 6 player by Rivals, will be competing in the Neutral Zone Hoops Showcase at the Louisville Gardens this Saturday.

While Samuels has already signed with the University of Louisville, Evans still lists them among his possible destinations.

Lamont Jones, a junior point guard and teammate of Evans who verbally committed to the Cards and DeAndre Liggins, rated the No. 21 player in the 2008 class by Rivals, and the University of Kentucky’s top signee will also be competing.

“If you are interested in U of L or UK basketball this is a must-see event,” said Hoop Scoop editor Clark Francis in a press release. “Evans is a must get for U of L and a tremendous scorer. Samuels is a beast inside and one of the most improved players this year. Liggins is a point forward that can pass, rebound and is just a physical specimen.”

Samuels nationally ranked St. Benedict’s Prep (Newark, N.J.) will take on New Creations Christian School (Richmond, Ind.) at 7 p.m. Evans and Jones will take their American Christian’s School (Aston, Pa.) team up against Liggins’ Findlay Prep (Las Vegas, Nev.) at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Neutral Zone or online at www.game-seven.com. Fans may purchase either a general admission ticket for $10 or a reserved sideline seat for $25.
