The No. 7 ranked U of L volleyball team defeated the Syracuse Orange 3-1 last Sunday to claim a share of the Big East regular season title. The win improved the Cards’ record to 25-1 and 13-1 in the Big East.
Jennifer Hoffman led Louisville in the win at Cardinal arena. She had 17 kills and nine blocks in the 31-33, 30-20, 30-20, 30-22 stomping.
“We settled down after the first game when our blocking kicked in,” said U of L volleyball Head Coach Leonid Yelin. “It was very gratifying win for us and the three seniors went out in style.”
The Cards took out Marquette, too, last Saturday. Hoffman led again with 17 kills and 10 blocks.
“When we have good blocking it is very difficult for teams to come back on us,” said Head Coach Leonid Yelin.
Louisville is set to host Big East Championship play beginning Friday.
