DPS arrests man with gun, ski mask in carBy Staff Report

U of L Police arrested Christopher S. Jackson, 22, of Louisville, on March 8 in the Fourth Street parking lot, an area DPS has increased patrols in after a recent armed robbery and car theft, said DPS Major Kenny Brown.

According to a DPS report, a DPS patrol unit stopped Jackson for what the reporting officer listed as “suspicious activity.” Jackson was driving a white 1992 Pontiac with a broken-out driver’s side window.

According to the report, Jackson told the officer he did not have a driver’s license, and that the vehicle did not belong to him. A search of the car revealed a loaded 9-millimeter handgun on the driver’s side floorboard and a black ski mask in the backseat.

Brown said that although DPS is still investigating, Jackson is not currently a suspect in the recent robberies that have occurred in the area.
