A television shows success can often be attributed to how it is marketed to the sexes.
Case in point: “Prison Break,” Fox’s successful action-adventure series, which airs Mondays from 8-9 p.m., and keeps audiences coming back for more.
“Prison Break,” which debuted in fall 2005, chronicles the story of two brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.
When Burrows is wrongfully imprisoned and sentenced to death for a murder he didn’t commit, Scofield is determined to get him out.
Fast forward to the present series of episodes and you find yourself knee-deep in a government conspiracy plot that goes all the way to the President of the United States.
The brothers realize their only way to expunge the crime from Burrows’ record is to uncover and apprehend those behind the murder.
Women can attest to the sex appeal of any number of the shows male characters, from Scofield and Burrows to Sucre and C-Note.
Whether you enjoy the silent, brainy type (Scofield) or prefer the brawny hero (Burrows), the show definitely has you covered.
Everyone can appreciate the fast-paced and high-adrenaline action sequences in any episode of “Prison Break.”
There are plenty of plot twists and turns to keep the action fresh and exciting.
“Prison Break” also does a splendid job of answering the questions its plot poses each week.
Even though the conspiracy is never fully unraveled, bits and pieces surface each week, getting the viewers closer to the truth.
It’s nice to see a show that’s not afraid to give its viewers what they want, especially when a show like “Lost” has plummeted in popularity for its tendency to ask more questions than it answers.
In the end, “Prison Break” is a roller coaster ride of a television experience, with a cast that delivers superb performances week in and week out.
A few things are certain if you tune in this week for “Prison Break”: you won’t leave the edge of your seat, and you certainly won’t be disappointed.
