Coming off of an embarrassing loss, Louisville will look to right the ship when the Coppin State Eagles come to the KFC Yum! Center.

Coppin State will be the second Baltimore-based university to play the Cards this year, and the worst without a shadow of a doubt. In fact, Coppin State might be the worst team to ever travel to the Yum! Center — they finished 328 in the NET rankings last year, which is (shockingly) worse than Louisville’s abysmal 314 finish.

Coppin State is already off to an 0-3 start to the year with the closest game being a 14-point loss to Mount St. Mary’s. In every game, the Eagle’s lineup featured at least 12 different players; not because there’s just too much talent to sit, but because none of the outcomes were ever in question. If Louisville beat UMBC on a miraculous game-winning alley-oop, then they should beat Coppin State by double digits easily.

The Cards have the talent to beat this team by 40 points or more, but they won’t even sniff that. There is so much that the Cards need to work on and tweak, but I’m failing to find confidence that this will be the type of no-doubt win where you could work on your weaknesses.

Coppin State is an awful team that has an alum with no prior head coaching experience leading the team. Louisville should be miles ahead of this program, but right now I don’t know how far apart they are.

I’m fully expecting a Louisville victory, but I’m not holding my breath.
