U of L students can now count Thursday as the beginning of a four-day weekend. At around 1:40 p.m., the university issued a Rave Alert announcing classes and offices will be closed tomorrow, March 6.

U of L spokesperson John Drees says that Physical Plant has been working to clear campus all day, but the entire campus might not be clear by Friday.

“The fear is that much of the snow and ice melting now may refreeze tonight, making it dangerous for students and employees. We are doing this with an abundance of caution,” said Drees.

Friday’s snow day will be the fifth of the semester.
