Believe it or not, we are already past the midway point through the NFL season.  This year is definitely one for the books, literally. The insane amount of statistical records being broken can only mean a big year in fantasy football as well. With that, I reveal to you the Commish’s midseason Believe It, Or Not awards to the best players in fantasy football for each position. Each player possesses all the intangibles to be a fantasy football star; durability, consistency, and a swagger that separates them as the best in each position.

The Believe It, or Not Quarterback Award Goes To

Andrew Luck, IND            221 Pts.                                24.6 Avg.              28 Tds.                  1 Pos. Ranking

Trust in Luck. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again.  The young hero in Indianapolis may not wear an S on his chest, but he currently reigns as the number one player in fantasy football with 221 points in standard ESPN leagues. Luck is averaging an overwhelmingly consistent 24.6 points per week and has had only one game where he didn’t score multiple touchdowns. Not to mention, last week, he set a franchise record for most consecutive games with at least 300 passing yards (seven) which was previously held by arguably the greatest player  ever to wear a horseshoe on his helmet, Peyton Manning. With a soft schedule ahead of him, expect Luck to continue with his fantasy football supremacy as he shoots to break even more records along the way.

The Believe It, or Not Running Back Award Goes To

DeMarco Murray, DAL                   162 Pts.                                18.0 Avg.              7 Tds.                    1 Pos. Ranking

The once injury-prone running back DeMarco Murray now finds himself the leading rusher in the NFL. Murray is on a historic pace thus far, becoming the first player in NFL history to rush for 100 yards over the first eight games of the season. A nose for finding the end zone paired with his dumbfounding ability to pile up yards every week, makes for a remarkable and dependable fantasy running back. Murray is poised for a very historic season and even a shot at the rushing title–if he can stay healthy.

Believe It, Or Not Wide Receiver Award Goes To

Antonio Brown, PIT         150 Pts.                                16.7 Avg.              9 Tds.                    1 Pos. Ranking

“Consistency, thy name is Antonio Brown.” A commandment that belongs somewhere in the fantasy football bible, proclaimed by this five-foot-ten wide receiver. Antonio Brown is not only the epitome of consistency, but supreme dominance and mastery of skill and superiority at the wide receiver position. What Brown makes up for in his small stature are big, unbelievable plays that he consistently makes week in and week out. He leads all wide receivers in receptions, targets, and receiving yards. The left-handed thrower is also one out of only two wide receivers with passing touchdowns this year. Now coming off of his 24th game with at least five catches and fifty yards, Brown is evidently a man among men on the football field and deserves to be praised for his stellar performance thus far this season.

Believe It, Or Not Tight End Award Goes To…

Rob Gronkowski, NE                       162 Pts.                18.0 Avg.              7 Tds.                    1 Pos. Ranking

Gronk is BACK! Bigger, stronger and more physical than ever coming off of a gruesome ACL injury he suffered last year. Gronkowski leads all tight end in targets, receptions, and receiving yards and remains Tom Brady’s most reliable and favorite target. Although having a quiet start to the beginning of the season, it’s clear now that he has bounced back and now reigns as the best tight end in the universe of fantasy football. Expect more and more Gronk-like spikes in the end zone for weeks to come which should make fantasy owners very happy.
