1. Blow Your Own Glass Ornament
Nov-Dec | 12PM-5PM, $12
Every Saturday and Sunday through the months of November and December, visit Glassworks located on W. Market Street and blow your own decorative holiday ornament. Call 502-992-3270 to schedule an appointment to work one-on-one with a glass artist. A variety of colors are available to choose from in designing the ornament, and ornaments are ready for pick-up the next afternoon.

2. Snow Ball Park
Nov 25-Jan 6 | 12PM-10PM, $12-$15
This winter, the Old Cardinal Stadium will be transformed into a winter entertainment attraction. An eight-lane tubing hill that stretches from the middle of the bleachers to the left field and a circle of ice sculptures made by local vendors and artists will be the centerpieces of the venue. A snow maze, ice castle play area for games and snowmen, music, dancing, dinner drinks and concessions will also be available. The park will be opened until Jan. 16 and the snow-making operations of the park are not temperature dependent. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster, at the Kentucky Expo Center, the Yum! Center and the International Convention Center and range from $8 to $15.

3. Holidays Around the World
Nov 24-Jan 2 | 9AM-5PM, museum admission
Visit the Frazier Museum and witness a multi-cultural tree display and celebrate the holiday traditions found throughout Louisville’s diverse communities. “Holiday’s Around the World” ranges from trees decorated as they would be in countries that observe Christmas, to cultural trees and displays showcasing holidays observed throughout the year in other countries. 30 trees are displayed in the entire exhibit. The display runs until January 2 and is free with museum admission. The exhibit is located on the first and second floors of the museum.

4. Annual Student Pottery Sale
Dec 2-3 | 8AM-8PM, 10AM-2PM, free
Handmade pottery makes a perfect gift and what better way to support your own university than by buying the work of numerous ceramic art students? This pottery sale will also features guest potters from the Louisville area. Unique handcrafted art will be sold benefitting the Ceramic Arts Organization, with pieces that fit any budget. The pottery sale will be in the studio arts building on the corner of Floyd and Warnock in room 136. Stop by Friday Dec. 2 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. or Saturday Dec. 3 between 10. p.m. and 2 p.m.

5. RAIN: A tribute to the Beatles
Dec 2-3 | 8PM
RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles is a Beatles tribute show that was a spinoff of Beatlemania that had a successful Broadway run and are currently on their North American tour. Hear tunes from the Beatles for two nights at the Kentucky Center, Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the Kentucky Center or online.

 

6. Men’s Basketball VS. Vanderbilt

What better way to celebrate the end of the semester than with basketball? Cheer on the Cards and pack out the Yum Center Saturday, Dec. 6 as the Cardinals take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. Game time begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster.
