“In my five years here, this is the first time we have had shots fired on campus,” said Lt. Colonel Kenny Brown of University of Louisville DPS.  There were no injuries reported.

A U of L student and a companion reported that at about 3:15 a.m. upon arriving on campus near Unitas Towers and the College of Education and Human Development, an unidentified man approached their vehicle armed with a hand gun. The victims reported they fled in the car when they saw the weapon.  The man then shot at the vehicle, hitting it once.  The victims escaped the incident without injury.

According Brown, the victim described the man as a black male, 19 to 21 years of age, between 5′ 9″ to 6′ in height.  The man was reportedly wearing a black jacket, dark pants, and red sky cap and wore a white and red bandana around his face.

U of L Police searched the area and alerted Louisville Metro Police.
