USA today and The New York Times are available to University of Louisville students. They can be picked up at both the Belknap and Health Sciences campuses. They are available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
The Courier-Journal was available up to the end of spring 2008 semester through the U of L Student Government Association. The contract was discontinued because of a price increase. The SGA now provides USA today and The New York Times which began spring semester 2009.
“USA Today and the New York Times together cost the same as what The Courier-Journal was costing us,” said Dani Smith, SGA Services Vice President.
This is in a pilot stage from the Collegiate Readership Program. This program allows professors to incorporate the publications into their classrooms. Smith said this is ideal since one of U of L’s pillars is student engagement.
