Love:
It used to be that students showed up to class, took exams, and got their grades back during class at the teacher’s leisure. Thanks to Blackboard, those days are long gone. Now, students can become even more active participants in their own education, taking practice exams, reviewing class slides, and analyzing their own grades, assignment by assignment. Thanks to Blackboard, students can achieve a level of involvement in classes never before reached.
Hate:
Benjamin Franklin believed that death and taxes are the only certainties in the world. If he could be a modern-day student at U of L, however, he very well may have added frequent inconvenient crashes of Blackboard to the list. The university’s pet program, Blackboard, is unreliable and reflects poor execution of a promising design. The gizmos and gadgets teachers employ hinder student-teacher interaction when they should be enhancing the classroom experience, and Blackboard is the main culprit.
