Now that the exterior of the downtown arena is finished, it is about time to start thinking about the interior, in particular the seating arrangements. Students need to begin making their plea for quality seating now so they aren’t put so high up that they can’t tell the difference between David Padgett and Derrick Caracter. The best way to go about making something happen is through an e-mail to your SGA President Brian Hoffman. The Hoff insists that he is for the students, so he would be more than happy to take the hundreds of e-mails I hope all of you will barrage him with. He can be reached at sgapres@louisville.edu.

Here is a look at what your e-mail might look like:

Dear Bri-Bri,

Like OMG I saw this picture of this totally cute guy in the student newspaper and he totally told me that I should e-mail you. I’ve been a Cardinal fan since like I had gross braces and pigtails and stuff. I’m just so super stoked for the new arena that they are putting downtown. I want to make sure that since I have to pay that like student fee of $100 for athletics that you would like ummm make sure that I would get to have a good seat at the basketball games. Edgar Sosa is like sooooo cute (OMG don’t tell Art LOL!!!) and I just want to be as close to the court as possible for his senior year. Well I have to go but you are super sweet and I’m so glad we are Facebook friends. You were like the best SOSer EVER!!! LOL!!

Yo what’s up Brian,

Bro, I heard you like run things around here, that’s pretty tight. I just pledged this fraternity; it’s been totally crunk. Just wanted to hit you up real quick dude to see what you could do for me about getting some kick a** seats at this new arena downtown. Me and my bros are looking to paint up and get totally rowdy at these basketball games. I just wanted to make sure that our seats would be totally sick. If you could put in a word to Tommy J that we want some prime seating so that we can show our spirit that would be tizzzzzzight. Peace dude, I gotta go bro – out.

Mr. Hoffman,

I was told to touch base with you in regards to where the pupil seating shall be at the pristine riverfront arena. My expectations are that we shall receive the very finest of accommodations. As students who work so diligently, we surely deserve a brief break from our studies. I, for one, fancy spending my spare time indulging in James Naismith’s creation. A game with a beauty matched by only the works of Raphael during the Renaissance. My anticipation is that you will work as an advocate of my requests. I hope to some day have the pleasure of acquainting with you, and thank you for your concern.

It doesn’t matter who you are, or how you write it, everyone should put down this paper and send Brian Hoffman an e-mail. As the SGA president he is the catalyst behind all student initiatives. The new arena looks absolutely amazing from the outside, but if we are put way up in the rafters, none of that will matter. Let your voice be heard, send Hoffman an e-mail and tell him that you want the seating you deserve as a student who pays a $100 athletic fee every year.
