For most in Davidson Hall on Mon., Jan. 29, it was just another morning of classes and studying. Students draped themselves across couches in the lobby, oblivious to the fact that big things were happening and drastic changes were unfolding just two floors above them.
It was on this day that two months of toil and aggravation paid dividends as the new and improved Belknap Testing Center was unveiled to the public.
Thanks to a new Prometric Lab, the University of Louisville Testing Services Office now offers computer-based exams such as the GRE, MCAT and TOEFL. Furthermore, the existing testing lab has been upgraded to support many placement exams that university students may require, such as the CLEP and Math COMPASS.
This isn’t a change that will only benefit U of L students, however; it will also make Lasergrade and Promissor testing, two of the largest computer-based assessment services in the country, available to the community.
