Cardinal honored at conference
The Louisville Cardinal newspaper received ten awards at Friday’s Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association awards. The first place honors included Editor in Chief Chris Brown’s 2006 SGA voter guide and house ad, and former Managing Production Manager Terra Simms’ and Brown’s photo essay on the Ekstrom expansion.
Candidates to debate issues
The Supreme Court of the Student Government Association is hosting a debate for all SGA candidate Tuesday, 7- 9:30 p.m. in the Floyd Theater in the Student Activities Center. This debate is open to both executive and Senate candidates. Voting will be open on ULink March 5-7.
Fletcher finds reps in U of L student body
Freshman Robert Works and Brandeis Law student Nate Haney have been named the co-chairs of the 2007 Ernie Fletcher re-election campaign at the University of Louisville. According to the Fletcher-Rudolph campaign, the team will provide grassroots organization for the Fletcher-Rudolph campaign at the college level and will advise the campaign on issues relevant to students.
Med School sponsors 5k Run, Walk
The University of Louisville School of Medicine will sponsor the 19th Annual 5K Run/Walk this year. The charitable marathon will benefit The Healing Place, a shelter and recovery for Louisville’s homeless.
The race is set to begin on March 24 at 8:30 a.m. on the Med School Campus at 500 S. Preston St. If you register before March 17, the registration fee is $15, and payment afterwards and on race day is $20. All participants will receive a HCC t-shirt and goody bag.

Black History comes to life
The University of Louisville will host live interpretations of more than ten historical figures in African-American history, including Dr. Martin Luther King, singer Dorothy Dandridge, and Louisville native Muhammad Ali. The event will take place in the Chao Auditorium of the Ekstrom Library Wednesday from 7 until 9 p.m.
