Despite the loss of Brian Brohm Louisville took down Miami Saturday, dropping the Hurricanes to 1-2 on the season. The Cards Hesiman candidate at quarterback went down early in the third quarter but the team rallied around backup Hunter Cantwell combined with a solid defensive effort and great special team play from punter Todd Flannery.

The Cards defenisve unit held the ‘Canes to just seven points while Flannery gave U of L the upper hand all day long in he field position battle. The junior punter average just over 50 yard per punt that forced a stagnant Miami offense to attempt to move the ball on a long field the entire game.

Kolby Smith notched two touchdowns while George Stripling had over 100 total yards on the day to carry the Louisville offense.
