U of L’s field hockey team finished its season 14-7 overall and 3-2 in the Big East after a 1-0 loss to Connecticut in the semifinal round of the conference field hockey championship.
“I am so proud to be coaching this team because of the way they executed and defended tonight,” said U of L Head Coach Pam Bustin. “They got out there and fought and represented Louisville with great pride and determination.”
Despite the fact that Louisville did not make it to the NCAA semifinals held at U of L’s Traeger Stadium, junior Jessica Javelet was named to the 2005 Dartfish/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All-America first team.
Javalet and sophomore Janelle Avila were also named to the Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-West Region first team.
