The University of Louisville spirit groups swept title after title at the 2005 Chick-fil-A Cheer and Dance Collegiate Championship in Daytona, Fla. The competition was held April 7-8.
U of L competed in five different categories and brought back three first-place and two second-place finishes.
The cheerleading groups won in all three categories: Cheer IA, All-Girl I and Small Co-ed I. This marked the first year the Cardinals competed in the Small Co-ed division.
The Ladybirds dance team fell 0.22 points behind Brigham Young University in the Dance IA competition to earn the second-place finish. U of L finished 0.09 points behind Hawaii Pacific University in the group stunt competition for runner-up honors.
A one-hour program of Division 1A will air on April 23 at 2 p.m. on CBS Sports.
U of L swept every category it competed in last year.
Members of the cheerleading and dance teams could not be reached for comment at press time.
