Only a few short weeks after graduating from Louisville it appears that Grant Sturgeon has found a lucrative job. On Thursday afternoon, the former Cardinal golfer picked up his second win in two tournaments when he won the Kentucky Open.
The intimidating Persimmon Ridge Golf Course played tough all week yet Sturgeon pulled out the victory with a 1-over par 217 when he defeated Scott Parker in a playoff in the 54-hole event.
Since turning pro Sturgeon has won the Irvin Cobb Invitational in Paduch and now the Kentucky Open. In two events entered Sturgeon has netted $16,000.
Louisville sophomore Brent Jones finished in a five way tie for 10th at 225. Another former Cardinal, Chris Campbell finished at 229.
