I wanted to blast out of here with a touching review of an amazing artist and album, but there just aren’t many right now. Instead, I will inform. Read ahead and let me explain the amazing things dropping this summer.

What to watch for soon is: Papa Roach, Q-tip, Rapheal Saadiq, D’Angelo, Linkin Park, Jump-Little Children, the Aluminum Group, Moby and Weezer. Q-tip, Moby, and Jump-Little Children should all drop next Tuesday (4-23). Please for Weezer on May 8th. Linkin Park, the Aluminum Group, Papa Roach, and D’Angelo are all scheduled for May release dates. Just watch out. So far, 2002 has been a sort of disappointment for new copycat artists. There is no originality. If you want something really different, check out Angelique Kidjo. She hails from Benin, Africa. She is one of the most important females on the continent where tribes were ripped away from for slavery. She is Erykah Badu with a Hindu twist. It is an excellent sound on her eighth album with Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson and for the frat boys, Dave Matthews Band. The duet with DMB is cool. It is quite a relaxing album.

Q-tip. “Kamaal the Abstract,” is amazing. It has ounces of alternative rock, serious scat jazz, soul and sure enough pores of hip hop open up. This is definitely his best work to date. Papa Roach sing the blues and rock to a Sevendust, nu-metal type beat. No more rock-hop for the boys from Cali, just singing, and good ole rock. Raphael Saadiq, formerly of TTT and Lucy Pearl shakes his soul maker and vibes out on his next album. Linkin Park (The Morning After) stay the same and this writer’s prediction is they will sell the most in 2002 with their new album. Weezer rock their fourth album. Maladroit was produced by a fan. They found this fan on an Internet site and invited her to produce the new album. It is available for full, free of charge download on Weezer. com. It rocks classic riffs with funny rhymes and lines. It is extraordinary Weezer and sure to please all the EMO fans. Jump-Little Children is an interesting indie-rock band. Their sound is particularly unique, as they use guitars, organs and yes, sometimes a symphony. It is an awesome sound like no one else I’ve heard.

Please email if you want info on new music or old music: MEUZIQ81@aol.com Also, please watch for Rage Against the Machine featuring Chris Cornell. It is sure to amaze. The first single is entitled, “Monstero.” It rocks and vibes with a sweet Morello riff on a very crying Cornell voice. It is extremely different from the De La Rocha days. That is set to drop June 11th. Thanks readers. Take care of your ears.
